ROM: Kiam Leong & Emily

Kiam Leong and Emily’s registration of marriage at Tian Hou Temple in June itself. I still remember, Stephen and I were just back from Ipoh wedding shooting a night before around 2am and within 5 hours slept, we need to be ready at the temple for this lovely couple. Never feel tired when shooting wedding photo, that is just me hahaha. Kiam Leong and Emily came early for some portrait shooting before the registration and we did have some fun time shooting that morning. Best wishes to both of you:

Ironman?

Today, one of my senior staff in my shipping company resigned. She reported to me for the past 3.5 years as quality audit executive. However, due to her husband’s job transfer, she have to move back to Lumut. During the farewell, she cried and hug everyone in my Japan Team and even my assistance manager was crying and when my staff turn over to me, they don’t understand why I never cry and not even any tear in my eyes..well, I did, for 3 seconds..being shipping manager for more than 10 years, I seen staff come and go, my close workmate resign and join other companies. To be frank, I never cry, not even during my own resignation on a company which I work for more than 6 years. okok, may be a tear drop or two. So, now my question to myself, am i dead inside? am I iron-man as what my HR manager told me just now?

I am not, I am just a guy who never good in expressing my feeling and let it out. I always keep things inside me…that is just me…a Pisces man.

For Gee, the staff who resign today, I wish you all the best for your future and a happy family life, I am glad you are with us for the past few years, helping us go thru the hard time and good time in Japan Team. Eventhough I never say it in front of all the staff, I truly think you are an excellent staff. All the Best!

Heya Edwin!
Sorry to hear your staff quit but your HR Manager is quite wrong to say you’re an iron-man; we had a great time having you around at Indulgence and I think if he/she saw you that they, he/she would not have said what was was. Cheer up and keep doing what you do best; being you! Cheers!

Wedding Photojournalism

are my wedding photos contemporary style or wedding photojournalism?

According to Wikipedia, “Photojournalism (sometimes called photo-journalism) is a particular form of journalism (the collecting, editing, and presenting of news material for publication or broadcast) that creates images in order to tell a news story”. In recent years, this approach to wedding photography has lent itself to the practice of capturing matrimony by many top wedding photographers around the world. This artistic, documentary style may entail black and white or color photos, film or digital wedding photography. Wedding photojournalists work in a documentary manner, easily replacing the narrative itself.

As defined by Encarta, Photojournalism is “journalism using mainly photographs: a form of journalism in which photographs play a more important role than the accompanying text”.

Wedding Photojournalism is characterized by its candid, creative and natural results spanning serious to humorous scenes. While traditional wedding photography dictates the setting, a wedding photojournalist documents the moment as it naturally happens.

What do you think?
