I was asked occasionally by some couples that is it necessary to have engagement portrait session taken at overseas locations? well, it depends. I guess the important factor is what will you like to have in your engagement portrait session itself. For Justin + Rachael, they wanted something “live” and casual in the morning before their actual wedding ceremony begin.  It was a joyful moment for all of us that day. Comments from the judges:This is another image which was quite different and done quite well. I like the feel of this image and the composition. I am not crazy about the marks on the surface and think that the image can stand on it’s own without the added effects.

11th Place in Reception Category

Comment from the judges:A nice execution of a shot that we have all seen. Instead of just some bubbles or flowers thrown in the air, the photographer takes this theme and ventures further. The spotlight creating a circular frame and the bubbles surrounding that frame really work. The added touch of the refraction and reflections creating hints of color in the bubbles adds an additional touch. The focus is also on the bubbles and not on the couple and I find that to be a nice touch although I don’t know if it was intentional.

Olive Lee, my best friend who I know her since primary school. Never close to her until we went to secondary school whereby she was just sitting in front of me. From that moment onwards, I fall in love with her without her knowing. Love her character and her smile and even dream of her every night. Until one day, she came to me and say that she is moving to Johor Bahru following the parents, I send her letters every week and always look at the post box and waiting for postman to come by. Whenever I receive her letter, I was happy and touching.. dont miss understand, I never tell her anything about me liking her…..

After I grad from secondary school, I cant wait any longer and ask my friend to accompany me to travel to Singapore to tell her what I was thinking for the past 7 years. When I reach her house, I found out that she was with her boyfriend and my heart so pain that it was like striked by thunder…….

It was a donkey’s year old story and I told her about my story and my feeling on her years later and hahah, we end up become best friends now. After my marriage, we seldom communicate but whenever either one of us travel to Singapore or KL city, we will shall make an effort to meet up and have a long night chat.

Last year, she told me that she finally found her love one and decide to get married, coincidently I was shooting for WeiWei’s ROM in Singapore and we have a chance to shoot for her engagement photography.

There is only one thing I regret, I wont be able to attend her church wedding on 28th Feb 2009. I cant capture my best friend’s moments…and cant be there for her……

Olive, for you…..wish you and your hubby a happy and wonderful marriage life and let the new chapter begin from here.
