Journey to the North

I was writing this blog during our trip back from Alaska while watching the movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty for the fifth time

Years ago,  I could only day dream all these on my desk back in shipping company I work with.. And thanks to all my family and friends who supported me on my decision on pursuing my dreams which Mae it possible.  I love the movie so much since the day I watch it and yes,  as the motto said

” To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life”

It was like a dream to me.  Still remember during April fool day,  I message Joanne,  my business partner that I got a job shooting in Alaska and will be enjoying king crab…  Days after the joke,  we got confirm booking to shoot in this beautiful location, one of my dream travel locations.

Over the past ten days while waiting for perfect timing for the photo shooting,  we been visiting a few towns in Alaska, driving hours to get to those locations.  Too bad we didn’t manage to book the RV for travelling which might bring us to even further locations for scenic views.  We been staying in Anchorage and visited Gridwood,  Whittier, Talkeetna  Seward,  Palmer Township..hiking short trails,  visited fishing village which only 250 residents who stay in the same and only apartment, going thru over 8km length tunnel to a thick mist town which feel like silent Hill,  gold mines up at the top of the mountain,  river full with the amazing sockeye salmon who swim all the way back from ocean,  took tram up to the mountain for great view of the valley, tasted king crab and wild salmon.. these are the unforgettable memories for us

Best of all,  we took a helicopter ride to glacier for dog sledding!  It is a really cool activity which you don’t wanna miss in Alaska.  Too bad we didn’t go for bear watching and no chance to witness the northern light during this period.

Life is about courage and going into the unknown
